Plantation agriculture is a commercial tropical agro cultivation system which is essentially export-oriented. The local government and foreign/ international companies exploit the natural resources for making profit, usually short-term economic gain. It often involves the deliberate introduction and agro cultivation of economically desirable species of tropical plants at the expense of widespread replacement of the original native and natural flora.

Floriculture or flower farming is also called horticulture Industry. Floriculture term is used to study of growing and marketing flowers and foliage plants. It includes cultivation of flowering and ornamental plants for marketing sales or for use as raw materials in perfume industry and in cosmetic and the pharmaceutical sector. The persons who are associated with this field are called floriculturists. Though the global floriculture industry is growing comparatively at a faster pace than in India, still a scope exists to build bridge between the demand and supply gap.
