					<description><![CDATA[<p>Silica (SiO2) is one of the valuable inorganic multipurpose chemical compounds. It can exist in gel, crystalline and amorphous forms. It is the most abandon material on the earth?s crust. However, manufacture of pure silica is energy intensive. A variety of industrial process, involving conventional raw materials require high furnace temperatures (more than 700 degree C). In our Project, a simple chemical process is described which uses a non-conventional raw material rice husk ash for extraction of silica. Rice Husk ash is one of the most silica rich raw materials containing about 90-98% silica (after complete combustion) among the family of other agro-wastes. Rice husk is a popular boiler fuel and the ash generated usually creates disposal problems. The chemical process discussed not only provides a solution for waste disposal but also recovers a valuable silica product, together with certain useful associate recoveries. The other associate recovery is sodium sulphate. Effluent wash water obtained after washing precipitated silica (wet impure silica) contains sodium sulphate. By evaporation of water in multiple effect evaporators, followed by crystallization, filtration and drying, crystals of sodium sulphate are obtained. The residue ash in sodium silica production can be utilized for making good quality bricks. Retained sodium silicate in residue ash acts as a binder and with incorporation of suitable ingredients high quality bricks can be manufactured. From rough estimation the production of paddy in the country about twenty five million tons of rice husk is obtained from rice mills. This is usually burnt resulting in mounts of ash in and around the mills, causing major health problem and pollution. Using rice husk as the raw material two million tons of pure high grade silica can be produced to meet the high demand of various industries that are using it. The main states with large number of rice mills are Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala etc.</p>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>BOPP films (Biaxially Oriented Poly Propylene Films) are produced by stretching<br />
polypropylene film in both machine direction and transverse direction. BOPP film is<br />
used in vast range of applications comprising packaging, labelling and lamination.</p>
<p>BOPP Films are preferred substrate for food packaging globally because of its inherent<br />
moisture barrier properties, seal ability, high clarity and graphic reproduction and<br />
shelf appeal, best possibilities of the pack being a mono layer/homogeneous structure.</p>
<p>For food packaging, it is prominently used as co-extruded heat sealable reverse<br />

					<description><![CDATA[<p>Calcined Petroleum Coke (CPC) is manufactured from Raw Petroleum Coke (RPC) by the process known as high temperature pyrolysis. The process is carried out in a rotary or vertical kiln at temperatures exceeding 1300 deg C. Calcination of CPC is essentially a high temperature treatment in which the carbon to hydrogen ratio of RPC is increased from 20 to 1000 and above. Calcination is achieved by complete demoisturisation and dehydrogenation of RPC under controlled conditions. During the process molecular rearrangement takes place making the CPC electrically conductive, an essential property required for Aluminium smelting.</p>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>Manufacturing of bamboo based utility and fancy articles are being used in every housed<br />
in India and abroad. Bamboos are mainly growing in hill border areas and available in<br />
plenty in north eastern states including Assam in India. Various types of domestic<br />
utility, decorative and fancy articles are produced out of bamboo by doing certain<br />
preliminary process of bamboo with simple technology. Simple tools are being used for<br />
making desired articles by the traditional artisans.</p>
<p>There are traditional and non-traditional artisans working in the bamboo handicraft<br />
sector and they produce both conventional and modern items. Raw material is sourced<br />
from the home gardens as well as from forest and the price of one bamboo ranges between<br />
Rs. 10 to Rs. 80 depending on its length and size. Fancy and show case items such as,<br />
lamp shade, flower vase, house models and boat models and other household utility<br />
articles also produced like baskets, mats and winnows are the main products produced.<br />
Traditional and common tools are used for different stages of production purpose.<br />
Trained artisans and traditional people are engaged in the bamboo sector with training<br />
obtained from the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts).</p>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>The energy demand in our country is rising due to an expanding economy, growing population, increasing urbanization, evolving lifestyles and rising spending power. About 98% of the fuel requirement in the road transportation sector is currently met by fossil fuels and the remaining 2% by biofuels. Today, India imports 85%2 of its oil requirement. The Indian economy is expected to grow steadily despite temporary setbacks due to the COVID pandemic. This would result in a further increase of vehicular population which in turn will increase the demand for transportation fuels. Domestic biofuels provide a strategic opportunity to the country, as they reduce the nation’s dependence on imported fossil fuels. In addition, when utilized with appropriate care, biofuels can be environmentally friendly, sustainable energy sources. They can also help generate employment, promote Make in India, Swachh Bharat, doubling of farmers’ incomes and promote Waste to Wealth generation.</p>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>Development of Medium density fiberboard (MDF) and fibre board has been consequential<br />
to man's quest for optimum utilization of timber and wood wastes which earlier were<br />
used mainly as fuel.</p>
<p>Initial development of Medium density fiberboard (MDF) board took place in Germany<br />
during the Second World War when its timber supplies were practically cut-off from the<br />
supplying countries. Medium density fiberboard (MDF) board plants were set up in<br />
postwar West Germany to meet the demand for reconstruction. In the fifties Medium<br />
density fiberboard (MDF) board manufacturing plants were set up in Europe and USA. The<br />
industry has now developed throughout the world.</p>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>The term CPP is used in the plastics industry to describe polypropylene-based films produced by a cast extrusion process (Cast Polypropylene). Although there are some CPP films used for hygiene applications and synthetic paper (usually involving fillers and other additives), the term CPP is usually used to refer to high clarity films targeting lamination, metallization and packaging applications. The rapid quench achieved with chill rolls results in excellent film clarity and gloss.</p>
<p>CPP film, cast polypropylene film cast polypropylene, also known as unstretched polypropylene film, can be divided into general CPP (General CPP, referred to as GCPP) film, aluminized CPP (Metalize CPP, referred to as MCPP) film and Cooking grade CPP (Retort CPP, RCPP for short) film.</p>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>A dry cell is one type of electric battery, which is generally used for the home and<br />
portable electronic devices. A battery is a device that consists of one or more<br />
electrochemical cells, which converts chemical energy into electrical energy. The most<br />
commonly used batteries are dry cell batteries, which vary from large flashlight<br />
batteries to minimized flashlight batteries and are mostly used in wristwatches or<br />
calculators.</p>
<p>The zinc chloride battery is really a modern adaptation of the zinc-carbon battery. Its<br />
commercial success is attributable in part to the development of plastic seals that<br />
have made it possible largely to dispense with the use of ammonium chloride.</p>
<p>A dry cell is a device that generates electricity based on chemical reactions. When the<br />
two electrodes of the cell are connected via a closed path, then the cell forces the<br />
electrons to flow from one end to the other. The flow of electrons causes the current<br />
to flow in the closed circuit.</p>

					<description><![CDATA[<p>Chromite is a crystalline mineral composed primarily of iron (II) oxide and chromium<br />
(III) oxide compounds. It can be represented by the chemical formula of FeCr2O4. It is<br />
an oxide mineral belonging to the spinel group. The element magnesium can substitute<br />
for iron in variable amounts as it forms a solid solution with magnesiochromite<br />
(MgCr2O4).[6] A substitution of the element aluminium can also occur, leading to<br />
hercynite (FeAl2O4).Chromite today is mined particularly to make stainless steel<br />
through the production of ferrochrome (FeCr), which is an iron-chromium alloy. Chromite<br />
is iron-black in color with a metallic luster, a dark brown streak and hardness on the<br />
Mohs scale of 5.5.</p>
<p>Chromite ore is a strategic mineral. It is a combination of chromite minerals and<br />
gangue minerals that are separated through the beneficiation process after mining.<br />
Mineral beneficiation of chromite ore is the exploitation of physical properties, such<br />
as density and chemical, magnetic, and surface characteristics, to produce<br />
concentrates.</p>
