BOPP adhesive tape which is quite a recent development in the field of modern packaging. Which is rapidly replacing the cello tape due to its xcellent mechanical, optical and barrier properties. It is widely accepted for the decorative, flexible packing operations and has gained a spectrum of popularity.

BOPP adhesive tape is a pressure sensitive self adhesive tape. It is a
combination of pressure sensitive adhesive and BOPP film. In dry form, it is a aggressively tacky at room temperature and adheres firmly to even rough surface.

BOPP film is highly resistant to weather, heat, aerial oxidation and others.

That is why it is used for packing purposes. The pressure sensitive self
adhesive BOPP tape has various application in packaging industry. It has very good properties.

Pressure - sensitive Adhesives- are permanently tacky substances that, in solvent- free or dispersant - free form, adhere spontaneously to the surfaces of most materials under only light pressure (37). Their adhesiveness relatively nonspecific although the individual products show different adhesion values on different substrates,. Pressure- sensitive adhesives are used almost exclusively for coating supports for example paper and film taps adhesive labels or self-adhesive decorative sheeting.
To this end the actual adhesives are applied to the supports in the form of solutions, dispersion or even melts. Lowviscosity solvent free relactive systems (Polyurethane systems) also have been used for this purpose. After the adhesive has set the layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive is in the form of a thin film on the support and until it is used is covered by suitsble antiadhesively finised material for example silicone paper siliconized polyethylene film. In some case the pressure-sensitive adhesive also is applied to the masking material and the film pressure-sensitive adhesive formed is transferred to the actual carrier by the reverse process. The dry application weight varies between 4 and 40 g/m 2 depending on the end use and the roughness of the carrier or substrate to be bonded.

Fevicol type adhesives come under the category of synthetic resins and latex adhesives and are made from polyvinyl acetate is a thermoplastic, odourless, tasteless, non-toxic, essentially clear and colourless resin. It has a non-crystalline and relatively branched rather than linear structure. Most grades of resin have a somewhat broad molecular weight distribution. They do not melt, but soften over a temperature range. The resin is unaffected by sunlight, ultraviolet light and air, furthermore it will absorb a small amount of water. Polyvinyl acetate is neutral and non-corrosive. The various grades have good heat stability below 100oC, show slight discoloration at approximately 150oC and decompose at 50oC but brittle at 10 to 15oC.

BOPP adhesive tape which is quite a recent development in the field of modern packaging. Which is rapidly replacing the cellotape due to its excellent mechanical, optical and barrier properties. It is widely accepted for the decorative, flexible packing operations and has gained a spectrum of popularity.

BOPP adhesive tape is a pressure sensitive self adhesive tape. It is a combination of pressure sensitive adhesive and BOPP film. In dry form, it is a aggressively tacky at room temperature and adheres firmly to even rough surface.
