Switches are the most prominent electrical accessory that we see in a house. Technically a switch is an electrical component that can break electrical circuit by interrupting the current or diverting it from one conductor to another. There are different types of electrical switches based on Current (Ampere) rating varying for 6A to 32A. Today modular switches are available in different colours and designs to go with our modular home or office.

Switches are broadly categorized into two main categories –Fixed Configuration. Modular and
Fixed Configuration switches are switches with a fixed number of ports and are typically not expandable. This category is discussed in further detail below. Cisco Catalyst 2K, 3K and the Cisco 300/500 series are good examples of Fixed Configuration switches.

The Fixed configuration switch category is further broken down into:

– Unmanaged Switches
– Smart Switches
– Managed L2 and L3 Switches

Unmanaged Switches:
This category of switch is the most cost effective for deployment scenarios that require only basic layer 2 switching and connectivity. As such, they fit best when you need a few extra ports on your desk, in a lab, in a conference room, or even at home.
With some Unmanaged switches in the market, you can even get capabilities such as cable diagnostics, prioritization of traffic using default QoS settings, Energy savings capabilities using EEE (Energy Efficient Ethernet) and even PoE (Power Over Ethernet). However, as the name implies, these switches generally cannot be modified/managed. You simply plug them in and they require no configuration at all.

Cisco 100 Series switches are good examples of this category.

Electric panel Boards (Switch Boards) are necessary for any industry which is using electrical powdered machines. Switch boards are necessary to reduce the number of cables required to supply the various items of electrical equipment. They are also useful to centralize the control of the distribution system.

In this way each circuit can be properly protected with essential apparatus necessary to limit the current flowing in the event of a fault. Each unit can be fitted with the measuring instruments to indicate individual load and the whole equipment can be standardized. This makes the maintenance easy.

The degree of development of source of energy to accomplish useful work is one of the measures of industrial progress. The discovery of sources of energy in nature, the transmission of energy in its various of energy to a more serviceable form are essential parts of an industrial economy. An electric power system is one of the tools of conorting and transporting energy.

Tubular poles market is quite good and having bright future scope and new entrepreneurs can well venture into this field. The mand is good in India and Globally. The global utility pole market is estimated $51 billion by 2023 with a CAGR of 4.72% from 2018-19 to 2023-24. The future of the utility pole market looks very good with opportunities in the transmission and distribution sectors. The major growth drivers are increasing power generation capacity, growing transmission and distribution infrastructure, and replacement of aging existing networks. Emerging trends, which have a direct impact on the dynamics of the utility pole industry, include wider use of tubular poles, increased usage of composite poles in transmission and distribution, increased usage of polyurethane coatings, and hot dip galvanizing of steel utility poles. DISTRIBUTION TRANSFORMER

A transformer is a device for tranferring energy in a system from one circuit to another. It consists of two independent electric circuits linked with a common magnetic circuit. This energy at low voltage may be transformed to energy at high voltage, or vice versa. In the like manner, current of a given value in one circuit may be transformed into current of another value in a different circuit. the winding of the transformer connected to the supply circuit is termed as primary winding and these windings of the transformer that are connected to the receiver circuits are called secondary windings. Transformers having more than one primary or secondary winding etc. transformers.

Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) small colored lights available in any electronics store are ubiquitous in modern society. They are the indicator lights on our stereos, automobile dashboards, and microwave ovens. Numeric displays on clock radios, digital watches, and calculators are composed of bars of LEDs. LEDs also find applications in telecommunications for short range optical signal transmission such as TV remote controls. They have even found their way into jewelry and clothing witness sun visors with a series of blinking colored lights adorning the brim. The inventors of the LED had no idea of the revolutionary item they were creating. They were trying to make lasers, but on the way they discovered a substitute for the light bulb.

The control of large power circuits by electrically operated breakers has caused the "switch board" to be replaced by the "control board".

Several types of control boards are in general use. On these are mounted the necessary indicating and recording instruments, and relays. The arrangements of devices or boards should be simple and distinctive to aid the operator under normal and emergency conditions and to avoid the possibility of confusion and mistakes. The control and indicating devices of each main power circuit should be clearly set off from those of othr circuits.

The assembly of the panels and the selection of the type of panel depind entirely upon the size and type of the station and on local conditions.

The panel type board may prove too long for satisfactory operation in very large stations, although this type is the simplest and least expensive.

The tungsten has a wide range of Industrial uses. The largest use is as tungsten carbide in cemented carbides. The available ore of tungsten are of very low grade ranging from 0.04 to 0.2% WO3 as against the commonly exploited ore grades of 0.5% WO3 world over. This process is a daunting challenge to the metallurgists to develop a suitable technology for the exploitation of Indian ore which of strategic importance to the country. The chief sources of tungsten are mineral scheelite [CaWo4] and wol framite [ (Fe.Mn) WO3] which deposited by hydrothermal solution. The tungsten has a melting point of 3350oC The highest of all metals and it is resistant to all acids at ordinary temperatures. It is elastic ductile and has high tensile strength and can be drawn into very thin wires. The domestic requirements of tungsten and its products are met through imports. Most tungsten ore contain less than 1.5% Wo3.
