Polyethylene polypropylene oriented strips are becoming increasingly popular all over the world and have caught the eyes of many and users for their requirements of packing materials. Woven sacks form polyethylene strips are specially suitable for the packaging purposes, because of their various advantages over the conventional jute sacks. Polyethylene woven sacks are water repelent and do not rot. These are chemically
inert and therfore more suitable for packing various chemicals in the form of granules or powder. These sacks are much lighter, weight about 1/4 the of the weight of a conventional jute sacks.

Air permeable sacks made from polyethylene strips are suitable for the packing of potatoes, carrotes, onions, grains, rice, coffee, sugar, coal, fertilizers, and sand Air tight and water tight sacks can also be produced form coated polyethylene fabrics by use of loose liners. Coating as well as linners are usually of low density polyethylene coated fabric and it can also be used for making tarpauline also.

PP oriented sacks are becoming popular through out the world. This is because they are chemically inert & are water repellent & lighter in weight. They are free & possess sufficient strength & can easily be handled. They are competitive in price with other type of bags also. Air permissible sacks made of polythene strips are used for packing potatoes, coconut etc. The only problem is that the Conventional
using of hooks to lift cannot be used with PP bags.

These bags are expected to substitute jute and craft paper bags in several areas. This would mean a considerable saving in foreign exchanges by avoiding recurring imports of multiwall paper which are at the order of Rs. 5 million per annum on one hand and on the other hand lead to an increase in foreign
exchange earning in the country by releasing more jute for exports.

Early accounts of inks, even including the olderr patents, are remarkble in being purely qualitative. Putting the final touches to an ink was evidently regarded as more of an art than a craft, and so it continued well into the machine age. During the last century, ink formulation has become more and more precise with reference to raw materials, but although ink making had become an industry in its own right, separate from printing, the ink formulae of this period still left the printer to make considerrable adjustments.

The rise of printing ink making as a large scale modern industry is a post-World War II event which has demanded a scientifically baded technology . The ink industry is now equipped with first class laboratories with well trained scientific staff, and can provide the technical service required of a modern industry. For the first time, the ink maker now makes ink the final product produced to a specification of chemical and physical properties, adjusted and controlled to fit its use as a raw material for the printer, and its final end use as book,
wrapping, newspaper and the thousnand and one other objects which today are printed. Inks, in other words, are now largely tailor made, and seldom bought "off the peg."
