					<description><![CDATA[<p>Zippers are vital parts of trousers, some kinds of skirts, dresses, bags, etc. Zippers gain popularity a few decades ago as substitute for buttons. First there were zippers made of metal, but metal zippers are by and large replaced by plastic or nylon zippers.</p>
<p>Zippers are mechanical slide fasteners. A zipper closer a placket when two rows of interlining elements (teeth, scoops, or coil) are drawn together by a slider. Zippers allow garment to expand for dressing and to become smooth and fitted when closed. They may provide closer, smoother garment fit and accept more seam stress than buttons, snaps, or other closures. When used as closures, they are essential to the performance of garments since zipper failures often render garments unusable. Many zipper are also used for their aesthetic value such as those with elaborate or ornate pulls, decorative zipper tapes, or colour-coordinated chains.</p>
<p>Zipper is a closure or fastener that is normally used to make permanent and semi permanent connections between the garment panels and joints that could be unfastened and fastened. It is a popular device for temporarily joining two edges of fabric. They are purely functional as well as decorative sometimes. The ‘zipper’ was introduced in 1893 at the Chicago World’s Fair then with the name of ‘Clasp Locker’. Initially, during the 1930s zippers were elements in children’s clothing for aiding them to dress themselves more easily. Zippers came into public interest in 1937 through the fashion designers in France who used them on men’s trousers. It is used in clothing, luggage, and other bags, sporting goods, camping gear, and other daily-use items.</p>
