CO2 welding wire is m.s. electrode wire drawn to various sizes followed by degreasing/pickling prior to pure copper/copper alloy coating inorder to avoid rusting in storage. Copper salt bath is employed for coating copper on the M.S. Wire. copper/copper alloy coating can also be effected by vacuum metallising process, or hot-drip continious coating process.
This copper coated M.S. wire is fed through M/G welding m/c shielded with CO2 gas inorder to protect the welding parts from oxidation during welding.
