GUAR GUM

India’s contributes to 82% of the global production figuring up to 6.20 lakh MT. India has been a major player of guar and guar gum in the internationald market. Guar gum is widely accepted as an ingredient in wide number of applications, such as oil & gas, food & beverages, mining & explosives, paper manufacturing, pharmaceuticals & cosmetics and many more. Its multifunctional properties increases its adoption in end-use applications. Rajasthan retains the credit for India’s position producing 72% of the production itself. The growing oil & gas industry, especially the shale gas industry, has in turn increased the demand for guar gum, thereby fueling the growth of this market.
Guar is largely consumed as a vegetable in the Indian subcontinent. It is also used in making pickles. 25575 tons of the total production in the country constitutes to the domestic market. The importing countries of Guar Gum and its derivatives are Germany, USA, France, South Africa, Netherlands, Italy, Japan etc.
