Insulating  Press Board is used in electrical  industry  and spacing  and  insulating medium.  These are made from rags  or  a mixture  of  rags  and kraft on wet machine  in  various  varying thicknesses.

Hard  Boards are manufactured in the country as thin  sheets with  maximum  thickness, usually up to 10  mm.   Standard  sized boards  have a width of 1.2 m and length varying from 1.2 to  5.0 m.   Insulation  board is manufactured by a  process  essentially similar  to that for hard-board, and the sheet as formed  on  the board  forming  machine is straight away dried in  roller  driers without  being subjected to heat and pressure in press.   Bitumen bonded and flame – retardant treated fibre insulation boards  are the  special types of boards being manufactured in India.   Usual minimum thickness of the board is 9 mm and the size may be  large  as 3.65 m x 1.8 m.
