                   Linear  Alkyl benzene sulphonates is the leading  member  of  the “Alkyl Aryl sulphonates” group which is the largest group  in general use. Linear Alkyl benzene Sulphonate accounts for over 60  percent of all detergents used throughout the world either as the  propylene-tetramer benzene or as the liars alkyl benzene.

There are many important reasons for this not are the  alkyl aryl    sulphonater   outstanding   in   their   properties    as  detergents,but  their are also based on raw materials  which  are  less  difficult  to  obtain  and  less  expensive  than  the  raw  materials on which  the other types of detergents are based.  The  mains  sources  of  alkyl  aryl  sulphonates  is  the   petroleum industry.
