Description
Naphtha Based Paint Thinner Production
Solvent or thinners are used in paints and lacquery to reduce the viscosity or consistency of the material and facilitate the application of a uniform coating. They must be compatible with the oil or resin present. After application the solvent is no longer required and should evaporate completely from the film.
A solvent is a liquid which disperses a solid or semi-solid substance so as to yield a useful solution.
Petroleum Naphthas, or solvents; have been available since the commencement of the petroleum industry. They are valuable as solvent non-poisonous character, good dissolving power, and favourable cost. The wide range of naphthas available from the ordinary paraffinic straight-run to the highly aromatic types-and the varying degree of volatility possible, offer products suitable for many uses.
