PVC, CPVC Pipe manufacturing unit is having a great demand in India. PVC (unplasticized polyvinylchloride) pipes and fittings exhibit excellent resistance to aggressive environments both naturally occurring and as a result of industrial activity. They are resistant to almost all types of corrosion, either chemical or electrochemical in nature. Since PVC is a non-conductor, galvanic and electro chemical effects do not occur in PVC pipes.

With increasing awareness and rising capacities of CPVC pipes in India, this segment has been growing at the fastest rate among other existing plastic piping systems. While PVC plumbing systems (white plumbing and drainage pipes) are growing at 20% CAGR, CPVC piping systems has grown at a five-year CAGR of 40%.

Current size of the CPVC pipes segment is estimated at INR15bn. The major players include APTL, Ashirvad Pipes, SIL, and Ajay Industrial Corporation. The top four players account for over 80-85% of CPVC pipes sales in India. Apart from these, there have been over 25 new players entering this segment in the last two-to-three years.

PVC Pipe and Fittings have got tremendous demand in India as well as in abroad. To manufacture this, all the machinery and raw materials are available indigenously. The Indian plastic pipe market is forecast to grow at a CAGR of 10.4% from 2016 to 2021. The major growth drivers for this market are the growth of government infrastructural spending, increasing residential and commercial construction, industrial production, irrigation sector, and replacement of aging pipelines.
