Hard  Boards are manufactured in the country as thin  sheets with  maximum  thickness, usually up to 10  mm.   Standard  sized boards  have a width of 1.2 m and length varying from 1.2 to  5.0 m.   Insulation  board is manufactured by a  process  essentially similar  to that for hard-board, and the sheet as formed  on  the board  forming  machine is straight away dried in  roller  driers without  being subjected to heat and pressure in press.   Bitumen bonded and flame - retardant treated fibre insulation boards  are the  special types of boards being manufactured in India.   Usual minimum thickness of the board is 9 mm and the size may be  large  as 3.65 m x 1.8 m.
