Ceiling Fans

Ceiling fans unit is having a great demand in India and well as also having export market. The ceiling fan is an automated device and uses hub-mounted rotating paddles to circulate air. Ceiling fan consists of electric motor and blades. The first electrically powered ceiling fan was introduced in 1882 by Philip Diehl. The ceiling fan is a demanding alternative to air condition that even consume less electricity as compare to the air conditioner. A ceiling fan helps to maintain the temperature in both ways that is heating and cooling. A ceiling fan can also be used in reducing the load on air conditioning systems. Running a ceiling fan and an air conditioner at the same time can increase room comfort as well as save energy. In Canada and the U.S., ceiling fans are primarily used to supplement the air conditioner in summer. The assembling method of ceiling fan varies with different models or types of the ceiling fan.

Ever since the economic reforms were set in 1991, the Indian economy has grown at a steady pace in comparison to some of the other developing economies around the world. The overall growth of India’s real GDP was 4.78% during 2013-14 compared to 4.5% during 2012-13. The country’s GDP had posted a CAGR of 7.9% for the 10-year period ending 2012–13. During 2013-14, the country had registered a fiscal deficit of 4.5% of GDP, while the current account deficit had moderated to 1.7% of GDP from 4.7% of GDP during 2012-13 due to restrictions on gold imports. The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) had rallied to grow from (-) 2.5% in May 2013 to 4.7% during May 2014. During 2013-14, the WPI inflation was reported to have moderated to a three year low of 5.98%, while the Consumer Price inflation had moderated to about 9.49%, although the food inflation continued to remain very high, derailing the process of containing the overall inflation.

Urbanization and innovation plays a significant role in driving the consumption pattern of the population. It is estimated that by 2025, India would become the world’s fifth-largest consumer market. Between 1990 and 2010 the urban population in the country had increased from 25.5% to 30.9%. Going forward the urban population is expected to touch 38.9% by 2030. Huge demand is there of the product. The demographics of India is quite young with around 65% of the population in the age group of 15–64 years with the median age being 26.7 years, which is lower than many countries in the world. India benefits from the burgeoning domestic demand created by this young demographic whose consumption is driving the middle class.

The Central Government had recently proposed developing 100 smart cities that would generate atleast 5 million new homes to address the problems of overpopulation and bring down the load on the existing metros. These initiatives would help to boost the real estate segment which would augur well for the electric fan manufacturing industry.

EIRI, Delhi have recently prepared the Detailed Project Report of Ceiling Fans.

TYPES OF CEILING FAN

There may be three main type of Ceiling fan

  1. DC Ceiling fan
  2. AC Ceiling fan
  3. AC/DC Ceiling fan

The Indian market is estimated at 2.5 million fans per month and it is growing at about 10% per annum.

India has large number of manufacturing plants located across the country and producing world class fans.

Infact the export of fans from India has doubled in the last few years and are a testimony to the quality and development of the Indian fan Industry.

The distribution of fans in India is also well developed with over 1,00,000 selling points for fans, across the country covering towns right upto the 5th population.

The fan industry has taken significant steps to ensure consumer satisfaction and leading brands not only provide good quality but also back this up with good after sales service.

Capacity to produce Ceiling Fans 1000 Units/Day, Cost of Plant and Equipments Rs. 36 Lacs, Rate of Return: 59%, BEP 35%. All the Plant and equipments and Raw Materials are fluently available in India. Entrepreneurs are having great opportunity to start this unit at any where in India and abroad.
