DWC (DOUBLE WALL CORRUGATED) HDPE PIPES (40MM – 600MM SIZE)

Double Wall Corrugated (DWC) HDPE pipes are similar to normal HDPE pipes except that they have different external & internal surfaces which gives them additional strength and stiffness. These are made with High Density Polyethylene which has very high life expectancy. These are externally corrugated and have smooth surface inside and are available from 75 mm to 1.0 m dia. These pipes are light weight and can be used for non-pressure underground sewerage, drainage & cross drainage (pipe culvert) including rain water harvesting purposes.  They are maintenance free and therefore, once installed, will lie underground for years.

USES OF DWC HDPE PIPES

  • Sewerage /Storm Water Drainage.
  • Sewerage treatment plants.
  • Earthquake prone areas with high tectonic movements.
  • Drainage & Sewerage in Buildings/Hospitals/Workshop/Colony.

APPLICATION OF DOUBLE CORRUGATED PIPE

  • Sewer systems both urban and industrial
  • Resident housing construction Factories
  • Water Pipes, agriculture pipes, industrial pipes

Dual/double wall pipe

A dual/double wall pipe is the most common corrugated pipe design for drainage and sewage. Various different designs of pipes are available, such as single channel or double flow channels, and they all have in common a smooth inner surface for good flow rates and a corrugated layer. Double wall corrugated pipes can be produced with either one or two extruders. The latter allows walls with two different materials in a single pipe. In addition there are other corrugated pipe designs that can be found on the market, such as triple wall pipe (smooth inner and outer walls and a corrugated structural core) and Ultra Rip (smooth inner wall with concentric reinforcing ribs that encircle the pipe to provide higher ring stiffness).

Corrugated Pipes are manufactured from HDPE resins. The design philosophy of Corrugated pipes is to provide products with suitable properties and the required margin of safety, that will enable the pipe to perform satisfactory after an extended period of operation (more of 50 years) under typical service conditions.

Typical Product Specification:

Diameter and classes

  • Nominal Diameter.

Double corrugated pipes are manufactured in diameters ranging from 20 mm to 3000 mm. Nominal diameter coincides with the internal diameter.

Larger diameters can be manufactured at side by means of special equipment

  • Nominal Pressure Classes:

Nominal pressure classes is 1 bar

  • Specific Pipe Stiffness Classes..

Pipes are also classified according to specific pipe stiffness Specific pipe stiffness classes are SN 4 AND SN 8.

Intermediate or higher specific pipe stiffness classes are available on request or Depending on the design conditions

Pipes made from plastics have advantages compared to pipes made from other materials such as aluminum, concrete, cast iron, copper and steel. Due to their low weight, their resistance to corrosive effects and chemicals as well as simple handling increase their importance in all application areas. Plastic pipes are mainly used in the areas sewage, drinking/potable water and gas supply, cable protection as well as in agriculture and industry; they are likely to gain further importance in the future. The market research institute Ceresana is forecasting total global revenues of more than US$80 billion in 2019 (Ceresana offers an European Market Study on Plastic Pipes as well).

The degree of importance various applications areas have for different types of pipes varies considerably. For example, pipes made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) are relatively cheap and are thus used extensively in the sewage, potable water and cable protection sectors. While pipes based on polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) are still in the process of challenging the dominance of PVC-pipes in potable water supply, they are already playing a notable part in both gas supply and in industrial applications. During the upcoming years, the utilization of other plastics, such as polybutylene, polyamide (PA) and acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), is likely to become more and more widespread. Among others, these pipes are used for specialty applications such as ceiling cooling, compressed air systems, heating installations as well as the construction of automobiles and naval vessels. Yet PVC will remain the major raw material for the pipe industry with an expected market share of more than 55%. Second most important material is polyethylen, HDPE in particular. For this type, forecast market shares vary greatly depending on region and were between 28% and 45% in 2011.

Global demand for plastic pipe is forecast to rise 6.2 percent annually through 2017 to 23 million metric tons, improving significantly from growth recorded between 2007 and 2012. Construction related pipe applications will offer the most impetus for growth across the board. In particular, a recovering US construction industry will drive demand gains. Plastic pipe will continue to supplant competing materials (e.g., steel, copper, ductile iron) in many construction applications due to its low cost, installation ease, and performance advantages.

HDPE pipe material production status

At present. China high-grade special pipe material market is basically imported resin, such as gas pipe material, pipe processing enterprises domestic multi-purpose Borealis ME3440, British BP company MD20BK, Solvay, TUB121, belgium. The PE device is the introduction of foreign technology before and after the nineteen eighties, compared with foreign advanced level, backward technology, small scale, high cost. The current production mostly low pipe materials, high-grade pipe material basic has not formed the scale of production. In 1990 the Chinese Qilu Petrochemical Corp referred to as Qilu Company) developed the DGD2480 pipe materials, until 1995 domestic only the company production of HDPE pipe materials, production of about 5 kt/a. In recent years, Sinopec Beijing Yanhua Petrochemical Limited by Share Ltd (referred to as Yanhua company) has developed and produced the 6100M, 6360M, 6380M pipe materials, Shanghai Jinfei Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the Philippine petrochemical) development and production of the TR480 pipe materials, Sinopec Yangzi Petrochemical Limited by Share Ltd, China Petroleum Daqing Petrochemical Co developed 6100M, 6366M. At present, these brands have a certain volume of production. And occupied a certain market share in the water supply pipe etc.. In addition, the Panjin ethylene Co., Ltd., China Petroleum Dushanzi Petrochemical Corp, PetroChina Jilin Petrochemical Co referred to Jilin petrochemical), China Petroleum Fushun petrochemical company. Also are actively committed to the development and research in HDPE pipe materials, Sinopec Shanghai petrochemical Limited by Share Ltd (referred to as Shanghai petrochemical) PE 250 kt/a at the Shuangfeng HDPE pipe market, products are mainly YGH041, YGH091 and other material.
